System size, ductwork, and airflow work hand in hand to give your home the best in comfort and cooling efficiency.

Properly sizing an HVAC system is specific to the climate you are in (such as the hot, dry climate in Merced, California) and requires an accurate Heat Load Calculation (also known as Manual J). This calculation takes into account the home’s insulation, window size and type, shade, and more. It is not uncommon to install a different size system than the one being replaced as overall system efficiency affects size as well.

Once the proper system size is determined, we need to make sure your duct system is appropriately matched.  Poor airflow can literally kill your comfort and your air conditioning system.

Ducting that is too restrictive will make your new system work overtime, dramatically shortening its life.
